Dyson DC25 Ball All-Floors Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Product By Dyson, Inc.

For cleaner expelled air, the unit comes with a washable lifetime HEPA filter that traps microscopic allergens such as pollen and bacteria. In fact, the air expelled from a Dyson has up to 150 times less bacteria and mold than the air you breathe, and all Dyson uprights are certified asthma friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. The unit's hygienic 1/3-gallon bin quickly empties without ever having to touch the dust--just press the button and dust empties from the bottom; the clear polycarbonate bin also allows for easily viewing the cleaning progress and gauging when it needs to be emptied. Other highlights include fingertip controls, a constant suction power of 220 air watts, a 24-3/5-foot cord, a maximum reach of 40-2/7 feet, and a lightweight design at only 16-1/8 pounds. On-board accessory tools include a combination tool and a stair tool. The vacuum cleaner measures 12-1/5 by 15-2/5 by 42-2/5 inches and carries a five-year parts-and-labor warranty.

I have owned the dc25 for about 16 months now. I would strongly recommend this product.
A couple points:
1) All the dc25's are the same vacuum. The animal has an extra brush, the blueprint (which I have) has an extra floor tool. The vacuum is the same on each.
2) The floor tool on the blue print is great tool - I also have the allergy kit, which I use the dust brush a lot (great tool) but the flexi tool is so-so, as is the mattress tool.
3) BB&Beyond will allow someone to sign up online and get a 20% discount - pretty good deal.
Strong points
1) Already stated in most of these reviews.
2) I have seen some criticism over the wand - I love mine and much easier to use than my previous vac.
Negatives
3) I do have concerns over long term durability. I won't let my teenager use this vacuum as I'm sure she could break it pretty easy.
4) I would like a slightly longer cord, but don't see this as much of an issue.
I thought the price on this was crazy high, but feel it was worth it...enough so that I just ordered the new dc35 rechargable (with that BBB discount I mentioned above).

I've used everything from $50 - $150 Shark and Dirt Devil vacuums from Walmart that I wouldn't spend more than $5 on now, from $2200 rainbow and roboclean vacuums. The Dyson DC25 is by far my favourite. Even if your carpets appear clean or you just vacuumed with your Shark, the DC25 will still pull a decent amount of dirt out, you will be surprised. The suction is great, weather you're vacuuming upright, or using an attachment on the hose/wand. The Ball is a nice touch. Easier to maneuver on carpet floors. Not really worth paying anything more for alone, but a nice feature.
The Dyson attachments are overpriced, for sure, so beware if you plan on buying attachments/ accessories. But at the price Amazon typically offers this vacuum, you cannot beat this deal. If you are considering buying this vacuum on Amazon take note that the Amazon price changes from day-to-day. I bought the DC25 All Floors because it was $400 at the time, the DC25 Animal (only difference being one additional attachment is included, and the Animal is purple as opposed to orange) was $490. The next day the DC Animal was $430 and now, a week later, The DC25 All Floors went up and I believe they're now both $430 at the time I'm writing this. Again, check both if you're thinking of buying this so see how the prices match up, as noted, the Animal will give you an extra attachment, BUT this attachment is pretty poor at best and if you can get the DC25 All Floors at a significant savings over the Animal as I did, then go for the cheaper of the two. The Mini-Turbine attachment is flawed and surely not worth paying any substancial difference in price for, unless purple is just your favourite color. There are no other differences between the two.
Overall a very good vacuum, simple to clean as well, hoses all disassemble very easy incase of any clogged hoses; easily taken care of. As I said I am certainly more impressed with this over the typical cheaper vacuum I've usually used, as this picks things up on one pass through the cheaper ones won't pick up even if you sit there and run over all day long. It is on par with the more expensive $2000+ vacuum systems (although it won't give you the plus of the steam cleaning that those will) it is a hell of a lot easier to store and break out then those systems, and as said, will vacuum on par if not better than those expensive systems. I have a German Shepherd who sheds non-stop. After about two days my carpets are looking pretty mean thanks to this pup. But after you run the DC25 through you'd never know a dog has set foot in this house. There isn't a hair on the ground this thing won't suck up after you run it over.
Dyson makes the ZORB powder to give you a dry-cleaning like effect instead of using a wet carpet cleaner. Beware after using that however you will want to wait ATLEAST the 30 recommended minutes for the powder to dry, if not and you vacuum it up wet, it can very easily clog your hoses up, or atleast start to.
My ONLY complaint about this machine, is that for the price, I believe it should come with some nice attachments. It comes with two standard attachments, but with a high price tag, and I'm sure very large profit that Dyson is making off of selling one of these; they could give a little back and throw in a few NICE attachments. But again, best vacuum I have used thus far and I don't regret dropping the $400 for this bad boy as it is in a league of it's own.
